The Performance
Francis: I learnt how to work as a team, to work as a group. And when you do acting and performing arts, you need to work as a team, because if you don't work as a team, it just..it wouldn't work.
Anju: I don't normally work with anybody that much, but now I can work with anybody. And I find it interesting.
Mariam: I've learnt that you don't have to stick with the people who are your friends, you can pick different partners.
Alvin: I never knew I had a wonderful voice.
Vishal: My favourite part was making shadow puppets
Sergio: I learnt how to be a puppeteer
Kenneth: I've learnt that you can do drama and not talk, ... by your body movements, the audience can tell the kind of emotion, or what's happening in the play
Onkar: I think it's made me more confident.
Joshua: Thank you: you helped us realise that we can do more things than what we do usually.
Francis: It's really complicated to say, because it wasn't ‘learning learning', like a maths lesson, it was fun learning, not like boring old maths and English.
The Process
Jay: I liked it when we went to the high street, because we tried new things, and in school we don't normally get to go to the high street. It was a change.
Joshua: We went to Cape Hill, and I learnt new things, that you didn't have to go to ASDA, that there's more tropical shops to go to. I think I'd go there again with my mum and dad, because they haven't explored it yet, and I think they'd like it.
Jack: My best day was when we went to Cape Hill and we went to the sewing shop. Cos we got to turn the handle on the old sewing machine, and I never knew that sewing machines could do that. I want to be an inventor when I grow up.
Rajvir: I liked it when we went to the High Street because the shop keepers told us more history about the High Street.
Simran B: At first I just used to think that it was just an ordinary high street, but I never knew that it was that special.
Aaron: I liked it when we interviewed the older people because we learned about how the high street was before. I thought Smethwick was like a place that you just shopped. I never knew there was history to it.
Harsimran: When last week we interviewed people it was really good because some of us welcomed them really nicely, and we shared food with them, and they shared their memories with us.
Traileem: I learnt that you don't always have to go to ASDA. All the big shops are not making business for the little shops so good because they've only got a little amount of stuff. But they have some stuff that ASDA don't sell.
Onkar: I didn't know that Smethwick was that interesting, and that there was this much history in it.
Chloe C: You know when we went down the high street and we was asking the customers questions and the keepers, well I want to go to more shops and ask them questions.
