Lost For Words is a creative writing project for Key Stage 1 pupils at West Park Primary School, Wolverhampton. Born out of conversations with head teacher Caroline Godfrey, this project will address the school’s need to improve writing at KS1.
Our aims with this project are
• to develop and thereby improve pupils’ abilities in speaking and writing
• to stimulate new ideas as starting points for creative writing
• to extend pupils’ vocabulary
A team of 4 artists - a writer, a visual artist, a musician and an actor – will be working with Years 1 and 2 intensively over a three week period. The learning journey will be child-led. So far we only know what we’ll be doing for part of Day 1 and that includes a 250m multi-coloured, multi-textured thread, a wood, a pond, a bridge, and an enormous silver egg! So right now there’s little more to write about, other than to say that the team is excited, curious and full of questions about what lies ahead!
