The Explorers
Project Information
Evaluative conversations with staff and pupils at West Park Primary School after the Maths Project (see ‘Count On Us!’) revealed that, retrospectively, they thought it would have been a great project to have involved parents in, to get them excited about learning outside the classroom.
As a result, the Year 4 children, who were involved in last year’s maths project, wrote a letter to their parents, inviting them to be part of a new pilot project for parents and their children. There was a good response.
The group of 16 which then formed named itself The Explorers. The basis of the group is that each person inputs into what activities we do together. See the ‘Blog’ page to read about individual sessions.
Extended Schools Services has provided the funding for this project.
